Cherry Tomatoes (2021 & 2022)
WebMaster
Remarks (August 1, 2021):
I sowed the 'cherry tomato' seeds in mid-January 2021 during
covid-19 lockdown. This was the first time I plant tomatoes.
I keep the temperature around 23 degrees (outside was around 5 degrees).
In early March, I transplanted the plant (1.5 months old) into a large
pot (18 inches diameter).
In early April, flowers started opening. The tomato plant was
about 30 inches (height).
In early May, the plant was 3.5 months old, first set of small 'cherry
tomatoes' started developing.
The plant grows very fast, I trimmed the height to 6ft. I also
trimmed away many branches & leaves to encourage more flowers to change
into little tomatoes.
In June, the cherry tomatoes grow to full size.
The plant continues producing cherry tomatoes in the following months.
Cherry Tomatoes (2022)
WebMaster Remarks (January 16, 2022):
I sowed the 'cherry tomato' seeds in mid-November 2021 when
Omicron (covid variant) started to surge.
This is the second time I plant cherry tomatoes.
I threw away the previous plant as it was damaged while moving house.
This time I am experimenting a new method, keeping the plant shorter (4
ft) but bushier. I trim off new branches that grows from above 3
ft.
I keep the temperature around 23 degrees, hence outside freezing
temperature (0 to 5 degrees) does not have any impact.
First set of flowers appear after 2 months in early January 2022.
WebMaster Remarks (March 15, 2022):
In early March 2022 (3.5 months), first set of small 'cherry tomatoes'
started to develop.
The plant height is 4.5 ft.
